Dear the NHS

You are the Diamond in the UK’s crown and never have you shone so brightly.

You were founded in July 1948 and embody six core values

  • Working together for patients.

  • Respect and dignity.

  • Commitment to quality of care.

  • Compassion.

  • Improving lives.

  • Everyone counts.

and have worked diligently and militantly ever since to keep our country fit and well.

Your profession is like no other, one that requires you to put the needs of everyone you meet far beyond your own everyday. It requires practice, perseverance, blood, sweat, tears, years of training and a lot of hard work. It is relentless and I’m sure on some days totally and utterly heartbreaking and now, in the midst of a national crisis you are our front line.

The people at the face of the coal fire who see and deal with the things we only hear reported on the news. The people who see things we cannot comprehend, who feel a million emotions whilst we are asked to stay home, the people who take it home with them but get up the next day and do it all again because it is more then just a job.

You are hero’s. What you are doing and achieving every day in the face of such chaos deserves so much recognition, funding and appreciation that over the last 72 years has not always been freely given. You are amazing, incredible and just wonderful human beings. Words cannot do justice for your actions.

You don’t work for the NHS for the money, because let’s face it, if money is your motivation you are clearly in the wrong job. You work for the NHS because it is a vocation, not just a job but a way of life. One that enables you to give back and to feel rewarded by your choices and actions.

There are stories every day about the lengths your staff are going to in order to protect our country; parents not living with their young families and partners. Partners not living with their pregnant other halves to ensure they do everything they can to protect their loved ones and continue to support our country. It literally blows me away, such acts of selflessness.

Thank you so much is all I can say, and if I need to stay at home to protect you all then that is what I will do (gladly) and if a time comes when we as a nation or individuals can do more, I promise we will.

Please let the government and nation always value and appreciate you. May future generations look up to you and want to be like you. May there never be a shortage of nurses, doctors, health workers as people see the honourable work you do, day in, day out. May you be rewarded financially for the work you do.

May you forever heal our nation and our hearts. ❤️❤️❤️

To all NHS staff thank you,

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You don’t know just how amazing you are.
